There are many people that whenever they eat certain foods they get a migraine. Maybe some people drink wine and all of sudden they are having a migraine. But what are the foods that causes migraine.
The most common migraine triggers are red wine, chocolates, other alcoholic beverages, even healthy foods such as yogurt, bananas, citrus fruits, onions. And take note that for each different people it's a different set of fruit, If you have migraine. you have to stop eating all of these foods, It's a way to find out what triggers your headache. One of the best way to prevent and know which food cause your migraine is to keep a notebook and whenever you are having a headache. Try to write down everything you eat before you got the headache( the previous 8-12 hours). So if you see a pattern every time you had a headache whenever you eat bananas, then maybe that's your trigger.
For many people food doesn't play a role at all, they can eat anything, they can drink anything they want, and not get a headache from food, for some people it's dramatic that is if they stay on a very strict diet they will not get a single headache. For most people it's in between. Foods contribute to the migraine but it's not the only or the major trigger for their headaches.
There are still a lot of foods that causes headaches such as raisins, cheese, peanut butter, tofu, nuts, soy sauce, avocado etc, All of these are healthy food. Anything smoked, cured, pickled anything that has preservatives, all that can trigger headache. For some people it's MSG. some people are other preservatives such as artificial sweeteners. Again it depends on the individual so you can't generalize the list. So if you usually have migraines, check the food you ate in the past 12 hours.

Travel and Diet
One of the hardest things for other people to do when on a diet is to stick with it while traveling, but honestly if you only know how to choose the smart way, you might find it not really that difficult. Traveling may not be the best time to start a healthy diet, but if you already started in anyhow, then this wouldn’t be that hard.
If you are going to travel by airplane, you have to include a healthy diet in your food, I mean the airplane food is not always bad, but you can always have an advance research before you book. When booking your flight you can always ask the customer service about the options of the airplane food, you can always try vegetarian, they have vegetarian dishes, so at this point this would be a very good choice for your healthy diet, nutritious balanced diet. But of course it still depends on the servings. Well you can always try to eat in advance, try to eat a large meal before your scheduled flight, so when it’s time to eat, you don’t need to eat the whole plate.
When you are going to drive or just taking a bus. Most people are really having that feel of hunger while traveling so you might stop at fast food restaurants, and you have no choice but to eat the food that you can buy there. Well you have to avoid this whenever possible! If you are on a vacation and you like to spend a bit, but don’t go overboard. Don’t eat fast food more than one in a week, this is not going to do god in your health, but if there’s no choice, you have to choose the healthiest food available, go on a diet soda, and choose the chicken breasts.
Of course one of the safest and the healthiest is to bring your own food when you travel, some lean lunchmeat, low fat cheese, whole wheat bread, these are good alternatives to junk food meals that are high-cholesterol. Oh another tip, you can always ask in advance if there’s a fridge in the hotel, so you could bring healthier food if you want.
And finally always be smart when choosing the food you eat whenever you are eating out, if you are going to eat pasta ask about the low-carb options they usually have those for health conscious ones. If you are choosing a salad, try to get the dressing on the side.
Lastly, make smart choices when you eat out. If you choose salads or pasta get the dressing on the side, nowadays many restaurants had the diet options in their menus so it won’t be hard for you. When you’re eating with friends you can always ask a friend if you can split the meal. Or order a small options like “solo” or lunch sizes.
Now you don’t need to always worry about your healthy diet whenever you are traveling. All it takes is a little discipline and smart choices.

Diet for Brain power
Just as diet affects your heart, diet can affect your brain. Diet has a major impact on our brain not only in our body. Fruits and vegetables are high in anti oxidants, and they're perfect for information in our brain.
If we eat our fruits and vegetables for to five times a day everyday, You make your brain about five years younger, but we all know that it's hard to get fruits and vegetables everyday, but in general I think you should make an effort to eat or reach for an apple or reach for a pear, get some grapes when you want some snacks. Seafood is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids such as DHA and DHA is the best brain food, so make sure you eat fish 2 or 3 times a week.
High-fiber diet reduces the bad cholesterol, and increase your good cholesterol, good for treating the atherosclerosis, it increase blood flow, so it's absolutely. make sure that you also add a glass of wine every night in your diet but not too much. Remember one glass of wine in dinner is actually good for your brain.
Another tip is to reach for baked potatoes instead of those french fries. Use common sense when it comes to food. If you look at the food and it looks like the food is not good at you then it's not got for you. the bottom line is if you eat fruits and vegetables everyday and eat fish 2 to 3 times a week, your do wonders for your brain, Your brain stay healthy and younger.

Being a Vegetarian is all about choice
A lot of people who are not vegetarian often asked or thought about what made vegetarians to easily give up eating meat and actually tried a new way of eating which is being a vegetarian, Actually there are various reasons with all of this questions. Most vegetarians has their own reasons and most of them has similar reasons why they started it.Most of these vegetarians say that they become a vegetarian, for one or three reasons. The very first main reason vegetarians claim is that they kind of have problem with eating meat/ ethical problem. A lot of people disagree how chickens has been beaten, lived in very tiny cages, or the way these chicken has been slaughtered if they can't produce that much eggs compare to other chickens. Most vegetarians disagree with animals that are not in good condition or environment, like crowded cages. Or they use hormone laden feed so that these animals will grow bigger, faster and therefore produce more, Vegetarians who have these reasons has their own boundaries of course it depends on their beliefs, for an instance, some vegans doesn't take food that has yeast on it or they don't eat specific food.
there are other vegetarians that are called pseudo-vegetarians. They actually eat chicken or fish on a regular basis
Another main reason why vegetarians doesn't like to eat meat, is because meat conflicts with their diet preferences. It simply conflicts on how they eat meat. Like for example, some vegetarians just doesn't like the taste of meat, the texture of it, or maybe because they thought that meat is very high in cholesterol, it has high-concentrations of preservatives, So they don't eat meat because they don't like to.
There are still some minor reasons why they chose to be a vegetarian, I have nothing against it, It's good for your health, and you don't hurt anyone. So i guess being a vegetarian is all about choice.

Healthy eating vs Family and Friends Etc.
If you are on a diet or simply enjoying a healthy lifestyle, than you probably know that peer pressure to eat foods that are not good for you is a major part of your life. If you are worried about the food that goes into your mouth, don’t worry—there are ways to overcome peer pressure. It simply takes a little know-how to get people off your back!
Parties are a major source of peer pressure, especially with alcohol. However, remember that alcohol contains hundreds of empties calories in just one drink. When you go to a part, people might be pressuring you to have a drink and relax, and it can be difficult to say no when they are constantly trying to convince you. Instead, offer to drive to a bar instead. This way, you re the designated driver, so people won’t want you to drink and, in fact, they will probably be purchasing you waters and maybe even helping to pay for your gas. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.
Another time when you may feel pressured to eat is at work when the boss orders lunch for everyone at a meeting or when you have to visit a client. Instead of giving in to temptation, simply politely decline the food by letting your boss know in advance or order a meal that is healthy and split the portion in half so you have a meal for tomorrow’s lunch as well.
Baby showers, weddings, birthday parties, and other special events can also wreak havoc on your diet, even if you are good at resisting temptation on your own. When someone hands you a piece of cake and won’t take no for an answer, it can be difficult to know what to say! Here, little white lies might be appropriate. For instance, saying that your stomach was upset earlier in the day will convince a person that you don’t want to eat at the moment or pretending to have a chocolate allergy will get people to allow you to enjoy the party without a hassle surrounding food.
Remember, however, that while refusing bad foods is fine, you should be eating good foods. If you do not, dangerous eating habits and disorders can develop, which will give you, your friends, and your doctor a real reason to worry. It’s ok to say no to peer pressure, but don’t say no to food in general!

Benefits of Raw Food Diet to our Health
After a big feast or other heavy meals, we usually push back from the table, yawn and feel so tired we're impelled to take a snooze. We put that tired feeling down to overeating, and that's a part of it. But there's a further explanation. When we feed on cooked food, the body fights back. The stomach and intestinal tract reacts to the mass of cooked food by rushing white blood cells to the scene resulting to swelling and bloating. The temperature in the localized area rises and a fever develops. In case you didn't recognized this reaction, it is the same one the body exhibits in the presence of an infection and around a tumor.Cooking destroys all the living digestive enzymes in food. The body is forced to secrete an extra supply of digestive enzymes in order to process the dead mass. Research in Europe tells us that the body reacts in the same way when just part of the meal is eaten raw- if the cooked food is ingested first. However, if we first eat some raw foods before consuming the cooked portion of the meal, the reaction does not occur.
Very few foods are not good for us in their raw state. Raw potatoes are just not tasty, even though their nutritional value is high. raw beans contain a protein like substance which can cause indigestion. Raw eggs eggs white contain another protein like element which inhibits the absorption of important B vitamins.
But it's delightful to begin a meal with a big salad of leafy greens and raw vegetables. Make sure your salad contains shredded carrots, garlic green or red bell peppers, hot peppers radishes and onions along with dark leafy lettuces, Spinach is one of the best. Dress your salad with linseed oil and cottage cheese based salad dressing and give your long suffering stomach a rest.

Mini-Breakfast - The act of eating speed up metabolism, So if we kick start our day with a 200 calorie mini-meal, we will actually have an elevated metabolic rate throughout the day. Eating a good breakfast first thing in the morning gets your metabolism up so you burn more calories throughout the day (digestion actually burns a lot of calories). Here are samples of breakfast food you can get started an apple, banana, toast with peanut butter, and eggs. we can call it metabolism foods for breakfast. Eating smaller, more frequent meals also speeds up your metabolism by keeping your digestive system active (and using energy to function) throughout the day.
Need to build lean muscle - If we have higher ratio of lean muscle to body fat, our metabolism will naturally elevate. We don't have to be a body builder to reap the rewards, even lightweight bearing activity promotes muscle growth. Exercising is one common way to increase your metabolism, at least 30 mins per day and 4 - 5 times a week
Eat after exercise - Yes we could eat after exercise, physical activity gives our metabolism increase, eat within 30 minutes after a sweat workout will keep our metabolism speed up for the next few hours.

What Michael Phelps want to Eat
"Big Fat cheese burger one thing i want it the most and some french fries" says Michael Phelps, that's the only thing he can think of after winning 8 gold medal in Beijing Olympics."Eat, sleep and swim. That’s all I can do,” says Phelps.
This is what i heard and read the news going around about what the typical daily food intake is for the new World Record-Setting 8 gold medal for Beijing and 14 gold medal for his career Olympian Michael Phelps?
Michael Phelps’ recipe for success is to eat 12,000 calories a day (4,000 per meal) resembles that of a reckless over eater rather than an Olympian.
here are the list:
Breakfast:
- Three fried-egg sandwiches with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise
- Two cups of coffee
- 1 five-egg omelet
- 1 bowl of grits
- Three slices of French toast topped with powdered sugar
- three chocolate-chip pancakes
Lunch:
- a pound of enriched pasta
- two large ham and cheese sandwiches slathered with mayo on white bread
- 1,000 calories in energy drinks
Dinner:
- 1 pound of pasta
- 1 entire pizza
- 1,000 calories in energy drinks
Yes this is lots of food, only people who are too hungry can eat this so much food, but i understand Michael Phelps in swimming you can really get very hungry every time you come out of the swimming pool, its the only exercise that makes you hungry, other exercise can lessen your appetite but not swimming. and i think he s metabolism is fast as he swim so eating so much food for him is absolutely OK!

Scientific eating of Olympic athletes
As Beijing, China takes center stage as the Summer Olympics gets underway. The real story here is the athletes that will represent there countries for pride and glory, And everyone wants to win the elusive Olympic gold. Many factors comes into play to spell victory, and one of them is good, adequate and correct sports nutrition practices.Sports nutrition is the scientific eating of Olympic athletes to meet the needs of his specific sport. Eating right is a part of winning. What Olympic athletes eat, how much they eat and when they eat can definitely affect them from getting the gold this coming Olympics. The three important eating practices the Olympic athletes must do are: 1. To energized himself correctly during training and competition - Muscle's that are exercising largely draw there strength by storing carbohydrates for energy. However, this carbs stores can be rapidly and preferentially depleted, depending on the type and duration of the sports. Maintaining adequate nutrition to support and sustain these carbs needs is the one of the foremost goals of an athletes diet regimen. Enough calories and the right nutrients (carbohydrates, protein, and fats) in the right amounts and proportions are essential boosters of performance. The nutrients ratio of carbohydrate, protein and fats is carbohydrates = 60 - 65% protein = 15 - 20 % fats = 20 - 25% The pre exercise meal is best consumed 3 to 4 hours before the workout or competition begins, pre competition meals should be low in fat and should include familiar foods that are well eaten by the athlete. Snacks eaten closer to the time of the game should be smaller and low in fat. Complex carbohydrates are the star nutrients for peak performance. example of it is rice, bread, and potatoes. Glycogen which is the form of sugar are needed to provide strength and endurance, example of it are noodles, pasta, corn, vegetables, and fresh fruits. 2. To re energized himself fast during the game - Because competitions and game use up a lot of stored energy, re energized meals must be taken to replace lost and used up energy. Recovery must begin at once. Thus carbohydrate-rich foods and beverages should be taken1 to 2 hours after the game. The target intake is 0.5 gms of carbohydrate per pound of body weight, to replace the lost glycogen. This should take place within 30 min. up to the first 2 hours and then repeated with another 75 grams of carbohydrates, all within 2 to 3 hours after a game. This is important, to make sure the lost energy during training and competition is properly restored. Recovery drinks replenish calories and body fluids, water, mineral water, fruit juice soft drinks coffee, tea milk, watery foods likes soups, oranges bananas and watermelon, are all recover fluids. 3. To hydrate fully before, during the game and after every practice - For pre exercise , adequate hydration is vital for optimal performance. Olympic athletes should be sure to stay hydrated between exercise sessions. in addition drinking 400 - 600 ml of fluid 2 to 3 hours before exercise should allow for adequate hydration while giving the body enough time to rid itself excess fluids before exercise. If tolerated drinking 150-350 ml of fluid every 15-2- minutes during exercise can help Olympic athletes keep up with water losses caused by sweat. Post exercise re hydration must check body weight before and after workouts and competition to determine body water losses. 16 - 24 ounces for every pound of body weight lost.Post exercise fluid replacement should contain fluid to reduce urinary fluid losses, maintain thirst, and decrease the risk of dehydration. |

Artificial Food Pro's and Con's
There are artificial foods that doctor's also suggest to eat or use to his patients, because there are some reason's why they suggest it. For example a diabetic patient, diabetic patients are often prohibit to eat foods that are rich in sugar, so how can a patient eat sweet foods, here the doctor advise the patient to use aspartame. Aspartame is a kind of artificial food that is alternative for sugar, like sugar it taste sweet.
But base on studies they have suspicion in the short term safety on using aspartame, because they receive medical complaints like allergic reaction hives and rashes, there are also complaints of behavioral disturbances like sleep disorder, hyper acidity, depression, loss of vision, headache, diarrhea abdominal pain, menstrual irregularities and intense thirst.
Another kind of artificial foods are fake fats, example of fake fats are simplesse and olestra. Fake fats are made for intentionally make calories we eat are less than fats. There are fake fats that are made from starch like corn starch, cellulose gel, whey and oat bran, there are also fake fats from the combination of sugar, protein and edible fatty acids from egg white and whey that can make make big molecules that is passing through digestive system without changes.
