The BreastCare glove is used to assist ladies while performing self-breast tests providing a higher level of awareness. With a simple swirling of the glove over the inspection area, the mitt is meant to magnify the palpation effect, reducing the friction between the finger and the skin empowering the user an enhanced ability to feel and detect any lumps and heightened sense of senses for a more accurate analysis. Kylie Minogue, the pop superstar who recently experienced a Breast Cancer scare, has supported this innovation in the hopes to spread awareness and prevention of this dreaded disease. Once Sweet Deal readers evolve into Sweet Deal holders, they are entitled to a raffle ticket to attend the daring diva’s concert with one loved one or familiar stranger which will be drawn on June 30, 2011 and awarded during the singer’s press conference.
Like a trip to Jerusalem, anyone can be a candidate for Breast Cancer, which is why the The American Cancer Society recommends a monthly breast self-exam as early as the age of 20. While most Filipinas are aware of what the disease entails, only a few truly practice the Breast Self Check due to lack of knowledge, busy schedules, watching re-runs of the Bold and the Beautiful, Friday night clubbing, or too much time on YouTube watching make-up tutorials.
