I was youtube hopping when I accidentally view this mad tv comedy skit about losing weight, " Eat less move more" its a very simple words but very true and powerful if you just follow it. Eating less can really help, but not to the extent that you really don't eat, just eat less that can gave you enough energy for the day. Move more really helps, people like athletes move more that's why they don't get fat. The video is very funny!
Enjoy the video!

Diabetes (type 1): The facts we should know

Traditionally thought to be a quite uncommon disease, Type I diabetes affects just about one out of every 250 people, both adults and young, living in the US today. Although the term "juvenile" has long been associated with this type of the disease, as in Type I juvenile onset diabetes, the illness may actually occur at any time in life, and appears equally among both men and women.
There are thousands things that can go wrong with your body. Consider this short list:
- Beta hydroxylase deficiency -
- Dwarfism stiff joint ocular abnormalities -
- Anonychia -
- Dystrophinopathy -
- Arthrogryposis spinal muscular atrophy -
- Chronic hiccup -
- Cantu Sanchez Corona Fragoso syndrome -
- Costochondritis -
- Cantu Sanchez Corona Hernandes syndrome -
- Alopecia -
- Erysipelas
Fortunately, even most doctors have not heard of some of these. But even though it is considered fairly uncommon, you probably know someone with Type I Diabetes.
Symptoms
While the symptoms of Type I diabetes tend to be subtle in most cases, if not treated, they will eventually become fairly severe. Some of the most common symptoms include:
Blurry vision - Frequent urination - Frequent skin, vaginal, or urinary tract infections - Dry mouth, even after drinking - Increased hunger, even just after eating - Increased thirst - Heavy or labored breathing for no apparent reason
Some of the more serious signs associated with Type I diabetes that demand an emergent need for medical attention may include:
Abdominal pain Shaking, trembling Fruity or sweet smelling breath Loss of consciousness, rarely in extreme cases
Causes
Scientists still aren't aware of some of the factors leading one to have Type I diabetes. But, they do know that a tendency to the condition may be inherited from one or both parents. Researchers have discovered that Type I diabetes may also be caused by something in the environment that causes a problematic reaction within the body's immune system. However, they are not sure as to the exact origin of these triggers.
Diagnosis
For an accurate diagnosis of Type I diabetes, a doctor must check for abnormal blood sugar levels by performing a blood test, or also testing for the presence of glucose or keystone in the urine. With today's knowledge, there is no way to test for impending Type I diabetes, or a method to prevent one from developing this type of diabetes.
Treatment
There are many, of all ages, who enjoy long, quite healthy lives despite having Type I diabetes. It's imperative to keep blood sugar levels under tight control, which may be achieved by eating the right foods, getting enough exercise, and the correct insulin therapy consistently one or more times a day. Anyone with this form of the disease must have insulin injections in order to properly manage their blood sugar level, which will also have to be tested regularly.
Without treatment, Type I diabetes may evolve into or cause several serious conditions, some of which may be life-threatening. Kidney damage is a quite common problem in those with the disease with a condition known as nephropathy. Other possible complications include retinopathy, which causes a loss of vision, heart disease, poor blood circulation and gastrointestinal disorders which may also result without medical treatment.
Although a serious disease, Type I diabetes is a disease that can still be successfully managed with the right medical care.

What do we get on Cigarettes?

"Can you imagine blogging with your favorite laptop in front of the exhaust of car while the engine is running?" The carbon monoxide fumes from a car exhaust can kill you. But so can that cigarette that you puff on lazily as you blog on your laptop. That's because carbon monoxide fumes are released in the air when tobacco is burned. Its also stays inside the body to combine with hemoglobin, a form of protein in the red blood cells that transports oxygen to the body tissues. This combination slowly depletes the body of its oxygen supply. Which means that's smoking and sports don't mix since carbon monoxide reduces the supply of oxygen for your muscles. Research shows that smokers suffer shortness of breath almost 3 times more often than non-smokers. Carbon monoxide and nicotine combined can paralyze the lungs delicate hairs, called cilia. The respiratory system relies on the cilia to "sweep" the lungs and airways clean of dust, mucous and other dirt. Paralyzation Prevents them from doing this crucial function. The result, is what we known as smoker's cough.
What's in a Cigarette
There are lots! more than just addictive nicotine, these are the poison that go into your lungs each time you inhale cigarette smoke:
- Arsenic: used in rat poison
- Acetic Acid: hair dye and developer
- Acetone: main ingredient in paint and fingernail polish remover
- Ammonia: a typical household cleaner
- Benzene: rubber cement
- Cadmium: found in batteries and artists oil paint
- Carbon monoxide: poison
- Formaldehyde: used to embalm dead bodies
- Hydrazine: used in jet and rocket fuels
- Hydrogen Cyanide: poison in gas chambers
- Naphthalene: use in explosive, moth balls and paint pigments
- Nickel: used in the process of electroplating
- Phenol: used in disinfectants and plastics
- Polonium:radiation dosage, equal to 300 chest x-rays in one year
- Styrene: found in insulation material
- Tuluene: embalmers glue
- Vinyl chloride: ingredient found in garbage bags
- Facial wrinkles
- Bad breath
- Black lips
- A yellow stain on fingertips
- Stained teeth that's either yellowish or brownish
- An overall odor of stale smoke that everyone, except you, can detect

Simple ways to Beat Stress during Pregnancy

Pregnancy can be a time of added stress for both you and your partner. Although it is a special time in your life, it also is a time of physical, social and emotional changes. Some of these changes are due to the hormone increases that occur during a normal pregnancy. These can cause mood swings that interfere with your usual stress management skills, making those little problems seems bigger than they actually are. Because how you cope with stress affects your mental and physical health, keeping stress under control can help you stay healthy during your pregnancy.
Try one or more of the following strategies to help you manage stress in a positive way during your pregnancy:
- Eat a balanced diet = Not eating the right foods or enough food can make your irritable and tired, which may make you more prone to react negatively to the stress in your life. Avoid caffeine and cigarettes.
- Exercise regularly = Try to get some physical activity almost everyday, unless your Doctor tells you otherwise. Go for a walk.
- Make sure to get plenty of rest = Don't let the demands of everyday life overwhelmed you. Make time to rest, even if you have to schedule it.
- Find out what helps you relax = And then do it! Some things that might help you "wind down" could include taking a nap, resting your hand on your belly and feeling your baby move, taking a long warm shower or talking to your baby.
- Tune up = Playing classic or other music that you enjoy can help you relax and concentrate. There are also a number of relaxation tapes that combine nature sounds or soothing music with instructions that either ask you to visualized a specific scene or to teach you to relax specific muscle groups.
- Take some quiet time = Spend some time alone, meditate, read a book or keep a journal. Imagine your stress away = When you are feeling tense find a space where you can sit quietly for 10- 15 minutes.
- Hold that thought= When you have a stressful or negative thought, try these techniques : Stop the thought in mind stream. Actually say to your self "Stop" take a deep breathe and exhale slowly. Mentally take a step back, look at the situation objectively. Ask your self "Is my reaction overblown?" Remember that hormones swings during pregnancy may make things worst than they are. Then ask your self "What's a more constructive way to approach this problem ".
- Control your breathing to relax = Most meditation exercises use breathing techniques to help relax the body and mind. Try these simple relaxation techniques : Find a private spot where you can be quiet for 10-15 minutes. Sit erect , with your hands in your lap or relax at your sides. Close your eyes. Inhale deeply, hold your breathe for 5 seconds and exhale slowly. Sit quietly, concentrate on your breathing. Breathe through you lungs. On every exhale say the word "Calm". With every breathe, feel your mind becoming more still. Don't fight other thoughts or distraction, let them come, let them go. Just concentrate on your breathing. After 10 - 15 minutes, Open your eyes. Remain seated for 2-3 minutes. Resume your normal activity
- Tense, then relax = Progressive relaxation is a popular relaxation techniques that has been used for years. The idea is first to tense, then to relax specific muscle groups in a specific order. Try these techniques, when you begin to feel tense, if possible, find a quiet private place. Sit comfortably in a armchair or lie on the floor. (Do not lie flat on your back during the second half of your pregnancy, as this could decrease the blood supply to your abdomen and the baby) . Loosen any tight clothing. Remove your shoes, close your eyes and breathe normally, For each muscle groups tense the muscle for 6 seconds, then relax period. Repeat 3 times before going to the next group of muscle. These are sequence: Feet, calves, thighs , buttock, shoulders, hands, forehead and jaw (make a face, stick out your tongue) Reverse the sequence.
- Don't do it alone = Let others to help you. (husband, family, friends, neighbor) they can support you physically and emotionally before an d after the baby comes. They care about you and your baby's well being, but may not always know how to help you. Don't be afraid to tell them what you want and need.
- Dads get stressed too= Although they do not go through the same changes during pregnancy as mothers to be do, Dads get stressed too. They maybe worried about family finances, changing relationship and many other things. Take time to talk about what's going on. Give each other a hug, Dads also can help in a special way. Your partner can help you stay calm and relax by being aware of the changes you are going through and offering to rub your back or help with the housework, or just making an extra effort to keep the lines of communication often when things get tense.

Bad Fats can cause Cancer

Besides being linked to atherosclerosis, fats are also under heavy suspicion as a contributing cause of cancer. Cancer of the breast appears to be related to excessive use of highly refined corn and vegetables oils. Laboratory studies in animals have shown that the more fat consumed, the more cancer observed. When research animals were fed both high-fat and high protein at the same time, they showed a higher incidence of cancers than when fed only high-fat or high protein alone. Studies from research laboratories have led to the following conclusions:
- Transplanted tumors in animals are promoted when excess fat is given.
- Virus-caused cancer is promoted by excess fat.
- Cancer, secondary to X-ray radiation, is promoted by excess fat.
- Chemically-caused cancer is promoted by excess fat.
The right fats in the right amounts are absolutely essential for every cell of our body.

What Causes High Blood Pressure? Salt?

What causes hypertension? About 10 percent of all cases are due to kidney or adrenal disease, but the remaining 90 percent have no definitely known cause. There are however, some factors that may contribute to high blood pressure.
- Atherosclerosis (narrowing of blood vessels by cholesterol build-up) is also thought to be a factor in hypertension. If this proves to be true, avoiding excessive fat and cholesterol in our diets would be a great help.
- Estrogen, a female hormone found in birth control pills or given for menopause, causes the body to retain salt, and has the same effect as consuming too much salt.
- Some people are more sensitive to salt than others. In fact, the sodium in salt may actually be the number one cause of hypertension. A study shows that those people consuming very little salt, like Eskimos, new guinea and Solomon island tribes, Australian aborigines, have no incidence of high blood pressure. Northern Japanese farmers preserve their food with salt and eat an average of 30 grams of salt per day. Sixty percent of these farmers have hypertension, and strokes are the most common cause of death among them. This does not mean that salt should be eliminated from the diet entirely. Salt is vital to health, but our bodies need only 0.2 grams of sodium per day. If we cut our salt intake to one teaspoonful of salt per day, including those used in preparation of food, we could solve one of the biggest health problems. Individuals with hypertension would have to cut salt even more.
- Obesity may also contribute to hypertension. Every pound of fat requires thousands of extra blood vessels. These in turn require a higher blood pressure to circulate blood through them. It is any wonder, then, that obese people are five times more likely to have hypertension? Anyone who is more than 20 percent overweight is considered obese.
- Stress can cause hypertension, whether it be social stress, noise stress, or work stress. All of these may increase hypertension.
- Over consumption of refined sugar a possible contributing factor in persons with decrease kidney function is associated with the aging process.
